President Donald Trump will hold a rally in Rock Hill, South Carolina, on Thursday to support Sen. Darline Graham in her bid for reelection. The event is scheduled for the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center, with doors opening at 9 a.m. Eastern Time and remarks beginning at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

This visit is the second time the president has traveled to the state for this specific Senate race. Tim Phillips, a VIP attendee and longtime Republican campaigner, noted that the repeat trip signals a competitive environment. "Candidly, it’s also sobering," Phillips said, adding that voters would prefer the race to be decided with the Republican holding a solid lead.

Phillips described the atmosphere of such rallies as energetic and communal. "The energy, it’s electric," he said, noting that the unpredictability of the president's remarks adds to the appeal for supporters. He characterized the gatherings as a chance to see old friends and experience a shared sense of purpose within the party.

The South Carolina stop is part of a recent series of appearances by the president. He visited Greenville, North Carolina, on October 20, and Clemson, South Carolina, on October 21. The Republican National Committee stated that the party is relying on increased voter turnout to retain control of Congress.

Graham faces Democrat Annie Andrews in a state that has not elected a Democrat to the U.S. Senate since 1998. Most current polls indicate that Republicans have a limited chance of keeping the Senate. The president’s recent itinerary has focused heavily on lending his name to Senate candidates in key districts.

The next scheduled step is the Thursday rally in Rock Hill, a suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina. The event aims to mobilize voters in a region that plays a critical role in the state’s electoral college map.
