FOX Carolina has designated Wednesday and Thursday as First Alert Weather Days following the arrival of a low pressure system from the west. The forecast calls for periods of moderate to heavy rain, with the potential for thunderstorm activity on November 4 and 5.

The wet weather follows a brief window of dry conditions. Sunday in the Upstate will be mostly cloudy with the week's coolest afternoon temperatures. Highs are expected to reach only the mid-60s in the Upstate, while mountain areas will sit closer to 60 degrees. A few isolated showers are possible in the mountains, but most residents should stay dry.

Conditions improve slightly after Sunday. Monday and Tuesday will feature partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will climb to the upper 60s and low 70s in the Upstate, with the mid-60s in the mountains. This pattern keeps the start of the week pleasant before the low pressure system arrives.

Meteorologists note that the system is still several days away. Consequently, forecast adjustments are expected, particularly regarding the exact timing of the rain. The station advises viewers to monitor updates over the coming days as the model data refines.

The shift from cool, dry air to wetter conditions marks a change in the regional weather pattern. The Upstate and mountain communities will experience a temperature drop on Sunday before the gradual warm-up on Monday and Tuesday. The primary risk remains the heavy rain and potential storms scheduled for the middle of the week.
