The NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced on Monday that Jay-Z will be the featured performer for the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 14.

The performance will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The announcement was accompanied by a short video showing the artist sitting in the stadium surrounded by goats, with the caption "GOAT's out of the bag."

Roc Nation has partnered with the NFL since 2019 to advise on and help produce the league's entertainment presentations. In 2019, Jay-Z told NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell that if the partnership was about him performing at the Super Bowl, they could end the conversation now. Seven years later, he is set to step into the spotlight himself.

The rapper, born Shawn Carter, has won 25 Grammy Awards and received 89 nominations, the second-most in history behind his wife, Beyoncé. His catalog includes albums such as "Reasonable Doubt," "The Blueprint," and "The Black Album," as well as hit songs like "Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)" and "99 Problems." His 1996 debut album, "Reasonable Doubt," was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame last year.

Jay-Z's career extends into music publishing, artist management, and sports. He co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records and founded Roc Nation in 2008. He became the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017 and joined the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. Previous halftime headliners have included Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and The Weeknd.

The announcement comes after Jay-Z closed his "Jay-Z 30" concert tour over the weekend at SoFi Stadium. The run began with three shows at Yankee Stadium in New York, continued in London, and ended in Southern California. In the hours following the final show, his songs saw sharp gains across streaming charts and music discovery platforms.

The next morning, the Puerto Rican superstar held the top six spots on Spotify's Top 50 U.S. chart, with another song coming in at No. 8. Eleven other Bad Bunny songs were ranking in the Spotify Top 50 U.S. chart at the same time.
