The Tampa Bay underground scene has a new sonic benchmark. Razor and the Boogeymen released their single “Moon Flower Love” on September 25, 2026, and the track immediately generated enough listener interest to be selected as WMNF’s Song of the Day on October 27, 2026.

The song is a high-energy fusion of punk rock speed and stoner metal weight. It relies on thick basslines and aggressive guitar tones to create a dense, driving rhythm. The track does not rely on subtle production tricks. Instead, it uses raw volume and tempo to engage the listener. This approach mirrors the band’s live performance style, which is known for high intensity.

Razor and the Boogeymen operate as a power trio based in St. Petersburg, Florida. The current lineup consists of Razor Edwards on bass and vocals, Seth Anthony on guitar and vocals, and Alex Bond on drums. The band formed in 2018, initially as a four-piece garage act. They have since streamlined their formation to a three-member unit. This change allowed them to focus on a tighter, heavier sound.

The group has built its reputation by playing local venues in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. They have performed in warehouse spaces, DIY venues, and local bars across St. Petersburg and Tampa. Their stage history includes sharing bills with touring bands and headlining shows at venues such as The Potion Portal and The Floridian. This local focus has helped them cultivate a dedicated regional following.

The selection of “Moon Flower Love” for the radio slot came from a listener suggestion. This indicates a direct connection between the band and the community that supports independent music in the area. The track represents the current state of their musical evolution, moving from their early garage rock roots to a more refined heavy sound.

The band continues to perform on local underground circuits and alternative venues in the Bay area. They remain active in the independent music scene, maintaining a presence through regular live shows. Their recent release serves as a snapshot of the current Tampa Bay metal and punk landscape, characterized by high energy and local collaboration.
