High Point University’s Workman School of Dental Medicine will provide free dental services to military veterans on Nov. 11.

The university is extending the offer to adults who served in the armed forces. Eligible individuals must present proof of their service to receive treatment. This initiative takes place at four HPU Health locations in the Piedmont Triad region.

The participating clinics are located in High Point, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and Lewisville. Veterans can receive oral exams, cleanings, fillings, and extractions on the day of the event. All procedures will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No prior appointments are required.

The workforce for this one-day clinic includes approximately 180 dental students and 60 faculty and staff members. First-, second-, and third-year students will fill various roles during the shift. Dr. Ali Shazib, dean of the dental school, stated that the university places veterans at the center of its mission to improve community health.

Specific addresses for the four sites include Plaza Dental at 231 Plaza Lane in High Point, Madison Woods Dental at 5509 W. Friendly Avenue in Greensboro, Kimel Park Dental at 145 Kimel Park Drive in Winston-Salem, and Lewisville Dental at 6721 Shallowford Road in Lewisville.

The dental clinic is part of a larger series of events honoring service members. The university will hold its 16th Annual Veterans Day Celebration on Nov. 6 at the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center. This event is free and open to the public. The university estimates that approximately 2,500 people attended the celebration last year, making it one of the largest on a college campus. Interested individuals can register by visiting the university's website or calling the campus concierge.
