The venue on Coddle Creek Highway still holds the debris of a Halloween gathering that turned violent in the early hours of the morning. Four people sustained injuries after gunfire erupted at the event on Sunday, Nov. 1, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies reported that at least 30 shots were fired around 2 a.m. Three of the four victims have been discharged from the hospital. The remaining individual is listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made, and the victims have not been publicly identified. Officials stated that the public is not currently in danger.

The event drew between 200 and 300 attendees, many from outside the county. Captain Julie Wyatt of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said multiple online promoters advertised the party, causing attendance to swell beyond the owners' predictions. Wyatt noted that the event spread rapidly on social media, leaving the organizers unaware of the scale until the night of the incident.

Investigators seized several phones, cameras, shell casings, live rounds, and blood samples from the scene. They also collected bottles for fingerprint analysis. Wyatt’s team has processed approximately 50 witness statements so far. Most attendees reported hearing the gunfire but did not see the exchange, leaving the exact trigger of the shooting unclear.

A woman who rents a home from the barn owners on the same property described the scene as unusual for a location known for weddings and birthdays. She was asleep during the incident and learned of the shooting when a Mooresville Police officer told her to lock her windows and doors. She said the event does not change her decision to keep her lease.

Patty, a long-time neighbor down the highway, recalled seeing cars lined up along the road and in the field. She described the scene as terrifying, noting the presence of children getting off school buses nearby. She expressed concern for the area, which she considers a quiet residential spot.

Empty alcohol bottles, food containers, and dozens of chairs remain on the property as cleanup efforts continue. The sheriff’s office continues to review digital evidence and seek additional statements from partygoers.
